To start the design process myself and Vicki created a range of different layouts.
We next designed the front cover. We wanted it to be minimal and clean. We decided on the name Archive as it is an archive of all the visitors to leeds college of art. we experimented with a range of different placements of the title. We used a serif font to add character to the stripped back design.
We next formed a layout structure and applied all the information we had gathered to the structure. We still need to transcribe a couple of interviews but decided to format the book with all of the information we already had allowing us to add the extra as it is recorded.
I was then in charge of editing the photos. We decided to add a red tone to the images so that the publication felt more cohesive.
We then experimented with adding red accents in to the text. But we decided this was over complicating the design and wasn't really needed.
